Anime Conventions

How My Journey Began……………………………

My First Anime Convention was back in 2010, the convention was called Melbourne Anime Festival (manifest for short) it was held at the Melbourne Showgrounds near The Flemington Race Course it was a fan run convention. I didn’t what anime conventions were until this convention.

Melbourne Anime Festival or Manifest ran In 2011 Which I once attended considering it was my second year attending didn’t do much that year except look at the merchandise,cosplay & the video game free play area.

Melbourne Anime Festival was back once again In 2012 I didn’t take much photos but here is a photo of the line when they didn’t mail out the badges.

Melbourne Anime Festival was back again In 2013 this year alot of stuff happened somebody tried set off a pyrotechnic inside the convention hall where all the merchandise stalls were. Manifest or Melbourne Anime Festival closed its doors that year due to staffing issues.

In 2014 Manifest decided not to run due to staffing issues without  a anime convention then came along a convention called Animaga which ran at the royal exhibition building

Also Another Convention pop up which was a convention called CHAOZ which was a suppose to be a replacement for Manifest or Melbourne Anime Festival but it never ran In 2015

In 2015 I attended Animaga once again looked at the merchandise took a shot of front area at the royal exhibition building.

 

In 2016 I attended Animaga once again it was in a different place instead of the Royal Exhibition Building it was at Melbourne Showground where Manifest was once held. Also I attended PAXAus for the first time it was a gaming convention. Didn’t do much except look at merchandise & the Itasha car display. Another Convention Popped up which was Madman Anime Festival which I attended.

As mentioned above a another convention popped up which was Madman Anime Festival Madman is a large anime distribution company but they decided to hold their own convention which I attended which was amazing I got see a Brisbane Love Live Cover Dance Group perform which you can check out below & also I met  South Korean Cosplayer named Tomia.

In 2017 I also attended Animaga which was held at the Royal Exhibition Building that same year I attended Madman Anime Festival. I also filmed the inside.

Madman Anime Festival 2017 was held In Perth,Brisbane & Melbourne I attended the Melbourne Event which was fun I got to meet International Cosplay Star Ely at the event I also bought her photobook.

I managed to get a selfie with her which you can check out below.

I also managed to get footage as well

I wanted to meet that year YingTze but she went to Brisbane’s MadFest which was unlucky for me but hopefully they do get her for future events. Also I wanted to meet was Angie0_0 but she went to Perth’s MadFest which also unlucky. I’m hoping they do get these guests to Melbourne at some point.

In 2018 I attended Animaga which had a new sponsor MSY which was a good this year was amazing they had a freeplay area with computers setup.

 

I managed also to film inside.

I attended later that year Madman Anime Festival 2018 which was held In a different location than ususal it was located on the DFO side where the cafe was instead of the Casino side. The cosplay guest was Pugoffka who is a Ukranian Cosplay Photography/Cosplayer. The Guest that I wanted was Baobao Cosplayer who went to Brisbane’s MadFest. Also Another guest that I wanted meet was Mon who went to Sydney’s SMASH I’m Hoping they get these guests over to Melbourne Also.

 

I managed to take some footage but it way too crowded in there. I did also get footage a Love Live Group called Camellia Idols performing on stage.
